Could you spot this scam? Here’s what to watch for.
Most people think they can… until the “urgent” email or voicemail hits at the wrong moment. Americans lost $12.5 BILLION to fraud last year and retirees are targeted the most. The newest scam? Emails with the subject line “Alert: Social Security Account Issues Detected” claiming your Social Security number is being suspended due to “criminal activity,” complete with a fake letter that looks exactly like the SSA. Here’s your new rule: Pause and Verify. If anyone asks for money or personal information, especially out of the blue, do not respond. Assume it’s a scam until you can verify otherwise. And if you're a client, send it to us first. #ScamAlert #FinancialPlanning #RetirementPlanning #FraudPrevention #WealthProtection #FinancialSecurity #SocialSecurityScam #StrategicFinancial
