"Can I afford it" isn't the right question to ask. Evaluate it this way.
“Can I afford it?” That might actually be the wrong question. You can probably “afford” a lot of things. The better questions are “What am I giving up for it and how does that impact my longer term plan?” Because a $45,000 decision today might mean $90,000 that your future self can’t enjoy. We had someone drop a comment on a past video saying If you can’t afford to buy it twice, you probably can’t afford it. I love that framing because it turns it into a planning decision rather than a spending decision. On the fence with a big purchase? Double the price and throw that into your plan 10 years from now and think through what you might be giving up. Then decide. And if you want another perspective, we help clients figure out exactly what they can spend freely, without second-guessing it. That's the best part of having a plan. #financialplanning #wealthbuilding #personalfinance #moneyadvice
