Are your ChatGPT conversations private? Not entirely. And that distinction matters a lot if you've ever typed anything financial into it.  Here are a couple helpful steps to better protect your data.OpenAI's own policy confirms that employees can access your conversations under certain circumstances, and by default, the platform is set to use your conversations to improve its models unless you manually turn that off. Most people have never touched that setting. To turn that data sharing off, you can disable the “improve the model for everyone” setting found in Settings, Data Controls and toggling that off. Now add in the breach risk.In 2025, thousands of sets of ChatGPT credentials showed up on dark web markets after attackers accessed full chat histories through stolen logins. We advise not to type in your net worth, your account balances, or your tax situation to get a quick answer. That information can end up somewhere else if not fully protected. You can also turn off “Memory” and disable chat history to further mitigate risk if you are ok not keeping a saved history of conversations. We love clients using AI to stay current about financial concepts and strategies.  Ask it anything conceptual. Prepare better questions for your advisor. That's the right use.But your actual numbers belong somewhere with real security protocols behind them. Not a chat window. Not sure how your financial data is being protected? That's a conversation worth having. Link in bio.#FinancialPlanning #AIPrivacy #ChatGPT #DataSecurity #WealthManagement #FinancialAdvisor #DigitalHygiene
